Specialized care for unique needs
For individuals with both developmental disabilities and psychiatric and behavioral needs, finding the right care can be difficult. Many providers and facilities are not equipped to handle their specialized needs, and as a result, those who need it most are often left without support.
ViaQuest’s Dual Diagnosis program was designed to help individuals with developmental disabilities and other mental health diagnoses. Our program provides individuals with a specialized clinical team made up of a master’s level clinician, case manager, therapist and psychiatrist. Together, they work to create personalized care plans and recommendations for each individual based on their unique needs to successfully manage acute behaviors and prevent hospitalizations.
Each team member is specially trained and receives continued education to ensure that they have the expertise to successfully understand and treat specialized cases. ViaQuest also helps train family members of individuals that have both developmental disabilities and psychiatric or behavioral needs so that they are equipped with the skills needed to better assist their loved ones.

The ViaQuest Difference
ViaQuest treats a young man named Jack, who has autism and panic disorder with agoraphobia. He was extremely nervous when traveling outside of the home, where everything was safe and familiar to him. His ViaQuest Home Health therapists would visit him at home to avoid the anxiety caused by traveling to a care facility.
Through tapping into his love of art, Jack was able to better express his thoughts and emotions, as well as cultivate a more positive self-image. It also helped his therapist identify emotional triggers, which lead to more effective treatment. His coping skills improved and his anxiety decreased. Jack began to look forward to visits with his ViaQuest therapist and stated that he likes how she treats him with such respect and makes him feel like "a regular guy."
